Bonding or Veneers – What to Prefer

In recent years the maximum, ever possible progress was made in the field of cosmetic dentistry, because this branch of dentistry has made it possible to retain natural teeth, which were aesthetically ugly looking. And the most dramatic improvement in any smile can be made with bonding, veneers and crowns. Their effects range from changing the color to changing the length/proportions of all the teeth.

But, today most people get perplexed between bonding and veneers. They can’t able to judge what to select even after considering a cosmetic dentist in Miami, this is because people lack basic knowledge on both. The aim of this post is to give you sound knowledge on bonding and veneers. Have a look,

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are strong and natural looking. They require minimal grinding compared to caps or crowns. And most importantly, they can change the appearance of a person’s smile in just two appointments. These are made microscopically irregular with a mild acid, and the laboratory-formed, correctly shaped, tooth-colored veneers are bonded onto the teeth using tooth-colored cement. The result is usually a significant improvement in the shape or color of the teeth for at least 15 years. If maintained meticulously, it can last longer.

Bonding, also called bonded restoration, is a simple solution to make small repairs to teeth. It is typically completed in only one appointment. The material used is a plastic filled with crushed porcelain that is sculpted to the tooth to correct shape and color. Like veneers and crowns, bonding are not used to lengthen the front teeth, as the plastic filled with crushed porcelain is not as strong as a high tech laboratory made porcelain. Bonding tends to last about 3-5 years compared to pure porcelain.

Hope you got little info on bonding and veneers. Consult a cosmetic dentist in Miami and select the best treatment according to your dental issues.
